// SUNDAY ADVENTURES (ON A SATURDAY) // GRIFFITH PARK HIKE

This week we did our "Sunday adventure" on Saturday because I had plans on Sunday. So, as promised, Matt took us to Griffith Park. It was a really nice day and we went for a nice hike. I, of course, had an extra 16 pounds hanging on me which made it even hotter for me when walking but Matt held him a couple times up the big hills. After our hike, we went to a nice restaurant in Los Angeles called Mendocino Farms. Its super cute and super healthy and it was delicious. An absolute MUST for anyone visiting the area.

A DAY AT THE AQUARIUM

Saturday we all went to the Long Beach aquarium, a.k.a Aquarium of the Pacific. Matt's aunt wanted to see the penguins, and we figured it'd be a great time to take Mason so we all went! It was really fun, and apparently a pretty big hot spot on a Saturday afternoon. [note to self: don't ever go on a weekend again]. When we got there Mason had just fallen asleep so I didn't want to wake him. But he was missing so much of the good stuff that I finally just got him up. He was immediately amazed and loved all of it. Though I think he liked the Jelly Fish the best. He wouldn't take his eyes off of them and tried to reach for them. FYI, I brought my DSLR camera with me, and when it was time to take pictures I noticed I didn't have the memory card in. FML. So, I had to document the day via iPhone. Enjoy!

// SUNDAY ADVENTURES // STARBUCKS WALK

Last Sunday I started a "Sunday adventures" tradition. I wanted us to get out more as a family, so Sunday's are a perfect day for that. No matter what it is. Last week we went on a nice nature walk, and this week we just had a nice 2 mile walk to Starbucks in the freezing cold! I didn't bring my camera, though I had my phone but pictures we hard to come by when I was freezing! We walked to Starbucks, ordered our drinks and sat outside (yes, in the cold) and Matt and I had a nice 'meeting' over my website he is designing for my clothing line. I can't wait for the launch!
Once we got home, the sun went away and it started to hail like crazy. Needless to say, we stayed in for the rest of the day and Matt made some serious progress on the website. Later during the night he started to play the banjo after Mason woke up from his (3 hour!) nap and he went absolutely crazy. Dancing and cooing along to the music.
Next Sunday Matt promises we'd go to the Griffith Observatory for a nice walk.

CURRENTLY

So, I've decided to jump on the 'currently' trend happening, thanks to Randalin over at Harvesting Kale and Sybianna over at In her lovely life. It seems fun, so I thought i'd give it a try. Expect one once a week!

WATCHING: Literally at the moment I am watching The Office, though the shows I religiously keep up with are Parenthood (absolutely the best show with the best cast, ever), American Horror Story Asylum (even though I regret watching it every week because I can never go to sleep afterwards), Teen Mom 2 (I know, pathetic. But addicting), New Girl (super funny), Happy Endings (even funnier), Ben and Kate (hilarious), Grey's Anatomy (eh, going downhill but still watch it), 1600 Penn (just started watching it, but thus far...amazing), and Girls (best show EVER). Now that I type these all out it seems like I spend all my time watching tv, but in reality I only have time to watch tv when Mason falls asleep at night and sometimes while I nurse (thank you TIVO)!

STRESSING: I'm in the middle of completing my first clothing line for kiddos and its starting to stress me out when I find myself on the phone talking business while Mason is screaming for attention as he squirms on my lap. I'm almost done, so hopefully things will only get easier. Expect to see it launching within the next month!

READING: The Best Homemade Baby Food on the Planet. I'm researching and reading up on nutrition concerns for the bub. I can't seem to bring myself to feed this little guy something other than breast milk.

LOOKING FORWARD TO: Getting this clothing line finished and out! Also, can't wait for Mason's first trip to San Francisco to visit my sister which is coming up within the next month. And hoping that Matt got this new job. $$$

THINKING: about the details of the clothing line, and about everything I need to get done.

LOVING: How I can see Mason progressing in everything. It makes me so happy to see him get through milestones, but it also makes me a bit sad that each and every day my baby is starting to not be so much of a baby anymore.

// SUNDAY ADVENTURES // NATURE WALK

It's feeling a bit like summer around these parts, though theres SoCal for you. We're now sticking to a tradition of Sunday walks starting with yesterday. I stuck little M in the sling and took him for his first nature walk. It was fun, and nice to be outside on such a beautiful day!

Get ready for a lot of pictures....

BACK IN BIZZ

So, I've been MIA from the blog world for about two weeks now because this damn flu. Both Mason and I have been super sick with a sore throat, stuffy nose, headache, and the aches. First I had it, then I gave it to poor little M. I was extremely sick during Christmas, and lost my voice completely. Now Mason is going through the worst phase of it. He has such a stuffy nose and I'm sure he's got the body aches. He is so helpless and I don't know what to do to make him better, so I've just been nursing him non stop and filling him up with this liquid gold that is packed with antibodies to fight off this crap!

Overall, Christmas was great. Mason got way too much stuff, but its been fun to watch him start playing with toys and like it. He's now holding up his head completely on his own and we're not working on getting him to sit up. He absolutely hates being on his stomach, so tummy time is an epic fail. He absolutely refuses to spend more than one minute on the floor on his stomach. Plus I'm such a wuss that I can't stand watching him struggle on the floor so I just pick him back up.

New Years was pretty much non existent for us. Mason was asleep by 7, and Matt and I both were asleep around 9:30. Its true. We just can't hang.

Now, Mason and I are just lounging and taking it easy until he gets all better. We go out here and there, but nothing too extreme considering all the germs out there. And it breaks my heart when I hear him stuffed up and struggling to nurse and breathe at the same time. So, hopefully he gets better soon!

Here are some bits + pieces of our Christmas. There is definitely much more I need to put up, and blogging more is amongst one of my new years resolutions so hopefully i'll kick this up to about 4 or 5 postings a week.

There will be plenty more coming once I can get all the pictures together. AND if it seems like there are zero pictures of Matt, its because there aren't any pictures of Matt...considering he never likes to take any. So, another New Years resolution. Get more pictures with our little family.

Goodnight!

BATH WITH PAPA

Normally I give Mason his bath by bringing him into the shower with me and then we'll sit down in the tub and wash him up. We've got our little routine before bed time and he really enjoys it. He's a smiling machine when we're in the water, and by the time we're out he's ready to knock out. So, I think its good to establish a good bed time routine with a nice warm bath.

So, a couple of nights ago Matt gave Mason his bath for the first time and it was pretty adorable to watch. I always see Mason in such a different way when other people hold him. He is a handsome little guy!

pumpkin patch!

Today we went to the Pierce college pumpkin patch for Mason's first pumpkin! It was cold and cloudy and we rode a tractor, and we had fun! Although, we left without a pumpkin because we don't carry cash on us and that's all they were accepting. At least its a good excuse to go again next weekend and actually get one!

Mason definitely looks like he hated this trip, but don't let his little chubby face fool you...he loved it!
